The Primitives – I Won’t Care

$7.00$8.00

Release date: May 17th, 2024

Coventry, England’s The Primitives return following up last year’s massive hit EP Don’t Know Where to Start with a new two-song 7″ single “I Won’t Care” b/w “Everybody Needs Somebody to Hate.” Happy Happy Birthday to Me Records is doing the honors of pressing this single up and getting it out into the world. The sleeve is a three color screen-printed fold-over sleeve and the vinyl comes with a download card. The artwork and color combo is a nod to the band’s third single “Stop Killing Me” from 1987. “I Won’t Care ” is a perfect slice of dreamy indiepop goodness with an effortless Tracy vocal and a guitar hook that will get stuck in your head for days. “Everybody Needs Somebody to Hate” is a strummy light 60s insprired track with Paul taking the vocal. The single will be available on cherry red vinyl and black vinyl via HHBTM and on canary yellow vinyl via Rough Trade as an indie exclusive. Limited to a one-time pressing, so don’t miss out. The Primitives won hearts and minds in 1988 with their debut album Lovely and its Top Ten UK hit single “Crash.” They would have more charting singles over the course of the next four years, releasing two further albums before disbanding in 1992. They reformed in 2009 and have since released two albums and a handful of singles. For fans of: Camera Obscura, Heavenly, Dolly Mixture, C86
